Introducing The ResearchHub Journal: Empowering Scientists with Paid Peer Reviews
Science should belong to scientists and not the publishers. — Alexandra Elbakyan, Creator of Sci-Hub
We have launched the ResearchHub Journal—an open–access journal where authors receive rapid, constructive feedback through expert open peer reviews.
What is The ResearchHub Journal?
The core mission of The ResearchHub Journal is to accelerate the pace of science. We reward and incentivize authors for reproducible research while paying peer reviewers for their expertise.
The ResearchHub Journal provides a collaborative platform that enhances open science, transforms peer review through perpetual evaluation, and facilitates seamless knowledge exchange between academia and industry.
Authors can publish a range of scientific literature in the ResearchHub Journal including:
- Case Studies
- Original Research
- Short Communications
- Literature Reviews (Invitation Only)
Five Benefits of Publishing with ResearchHub
1. Rapid Turnaround Time
You deserve a fast turnaround for your submission. And reviewers deserve to be paid for their expertise. We are focused on solutions for both. From submission to publication, the review process is fast, easy, and constructive. Authors receive a final decision within 21 days from submission.
- Submission: Immediate publication as a preprint—free and open to all
- ~14 Days: Expert peer review is completed
- ~21 Days: Editorial decision received
2. Cost-Effective APC ($1000)
Authors pay $1K USD in article processing charges (APCs). Peer reviewers are compensated directly with ResearchCoin (RSC), a digital currency that can be easily converted to USD.
3. Paid Peer Review
At ResearchHub, we believe that APCs should go to the scientist. ResearchHub will compensate each peer reviewer with $150 worth of RSC for their expert contributions.
Robert Darnton, director of Harvard Library told the Guardian (The Guardian, 2012):
“We all face the same paradox. We, faculty, do the research, write the papers, referee papers by other researchers, serve on editorial boards, all of it for free … and then we buy back the results of our labor at outrageous prices.”
4. Transparency & Reproducibility
The latest trends in open access publishing are built on the Publish-Review-Curate (PRC) model. The ResearchHub Journal is fully aligned with this model–regardless of peer review feedback, works submitted to the journal are automatically posted as preprints upon submission.
- These preprints are assigned DOIs, making them citable, and they are eligible for RSC rewards.
- Following expert peer reviews, authors who implement the required changes will have their work formally accepted into the journal.
- All articles are published under open licenses, ensuring unrestricted sharing and reproducibility.
5. Boosted Visibility
ResearchHub is committed to maximizing the visibility of your research. Our strong social media presence allows us to promote your work and ensure it reaches a broad audience of scientists, researchers, and the global community. Increased visibility leads to greater engagement, more citations, and a broader impact.
